CAR 5.22 Aircraft Endorsement must be held in certain circumstances
(1) CASA may give directions in Civil Aviation Orders prescribing the aircraft endorsements that must be held by the holder of a flight
crew licence, a special pilot licence or a certificate of validation before the holder permitted to carry out the duties authorised by
the licence or certificate in a particular type or class of aircraft, or in an aircraft that has a special design feature.
(2) For the purposes of this Part, CASA may give directions in Civil Aviation Orders:
(a) classifying types of aeroplanes into classes; and
(b) classifying types of helicopters into classes.

Section 40.1.0 AIRCRAFT ENDORSEMENTS―AEROPLANES
PRESCRIPTION OF ENDORSEMENTS
1.1 For the purpose of subregulation 5.22 (1), the type endorsement set out column 1 of Appendix 1 are prescribed for aeroplanes.
1.2 For the purpose of subregulation 5.22 (1), the class endorsements set out column 1 of Appendix 1A are prescribed for aeroplanes.
1.3 For the purpose of subregulation 5.22 (1), the following special design feature endorsements prescribed:
(a) constant speed propeller;
(b) tail wheel undercarriage;
(c) retractable undercarriage;
(d) ski landing gear;
(e) float alighting gear;
(f) floating hull;
(g) pressurisation system.

Section 40.3.0 AIRCRAFT ENDORSEMENTS―HELICOPTERS
PRESCRIPTION OF ENDORSEMENTS
1.1 For the purpose of subregulation 5.22 (1), the type endorsements set out column 1 of Appendix are prescribed for helicopters.
ENDORSEMENTは、JCABでいう
技能証明の限定
と同等の制度です。
CASAでは、(1)飛行機では「Type Endorsement（型式限定）」と「Group Endorsement（類別限定）」、 「Special Design Feature Endorsement（特別な設計による限定）」の3種類。
(2)ヘリコプターは、「Type Endorsement（型式限定）」または「Group Endorsement」でライセンスの限定区分を行なっています。
型式限定は、その機種だけを操縦できるように設けた限定制度です。
類別限定は型式が違っても、システム系統が同じで、基本操縦方法が異ならない場合、一つのグループ、類別として大きな枠組みをつくり限定する制度。
